OSE Campaign, first session

Had our first session of BX/OSE with my usual group. We all seemed to enjoy it. First session was effectively a tutorial dungeon. The dice were so gentle on the players that they didn't even have a wandering monster. I didn't like that much, but whatever. The rolls rule like that. They're in Mint Hill, a frontier town where civilization is over a month east. They met some of the locals, and found places to stay. Then they were hired to go into a goblin cave and find the body of a little girl who was captured so she could get a proper burial. She was kept alive by the hobgoblin leader of the goblins. Something about hopefully ransoming her for livestock in the near future. Thanks to a neutral reaction roll the elf was able to talk him into letting her go. The hobgoblin got the implication that if they didn't leave the area the players would report the goblins limited numbers and come back in full force, so they decided to leave. Alcar was like "lets run a heist and

Blaster

Blaster Appearing to be much like a crossbow, but lacking the stirrup and lath, and with a metal tube in the flight groove, this weapon is some sort of death ray weapon. It is a weapon from another world, or a remnant from an ancient civilization. An "attack" with the blaster is a 2d4+2 points of damage with a saving throw vs. wands to avoid.      A found blaster has 1d8 charges in it, and can be used by members of any class. A magic-user (or illusionist) can recharge the weapon by spending prepared spells, replacing one spent charge for every two "levels" of spell used. The blaster can hold a maximum of 10 charges.

New Campaign

It's been quite some time since I've played BX with anyone but randies off of /tg/ or roll20. None of the players in my usual group have experience with BX and a few of them have bad impressions of the old school D&D in general. One even has an irrational hatred of descending AC. So this is gonna be a hard sell, but since we're using OSE for reh rules references and roll20 it should be easier. I'm super-glad that I get to introduce my usual group to classic D&D. Here's hoping I do a good job introducing them. Wish me luck!
