PORTABLE HOME

In its base form a portable home appears to be a black circular cloth 5 feet in diameter, often folded up for easy of storage. When unfolded and lain flat onto a horizontal surface a stairway pokes out of the hole leading down into a 2,000 square foot apartment. The apartment is a three room affair, with simple but well made amenities. The walls are made from packed stones and the furniture from redwood and mahogany. The flooring is cobbled tile, and the ceiling a plank of wood. Within each room, hanging from the ceiling are glass balls enchanted with permanent light spells.

The portable home has a special safety built into it. Other non-dimensional spaces (bags of holding, faerie pocket spells, portable holes, etc.) brought into it do not explode. Instead they simply become inert for as long as they remain within the portable home.

  1. The Sitting Room: The stairs lead into this room, it contains a cushioned wooden sofa, a low table, a desk with two matching chairs. In the middle of the room is a fine rug that resists being pulled up (a difficult strength check is required and will destroy the rug if successful). Next to the stairs is a small wooden table. On the table is a little stone block with a wooden button it. Pressing the button closes the entrance and causes the hole to turn black and fold up. Pressing it again causes the it to unfold and open. If the hole does not have enough space to open, it cannot open. Within the desk is a set of pens and inks, and a ream of paper the refills on its own every week. While the paper is sturdy and the ink of good quality, neither are good enough for creating scrolls. There is a small silver bell that rings when the portable home is activated from the outside.

  2. The Dining Room: Within this room is a cabinet filled with dishes, a small table, a large dinner table and six matching chairs. Within the cabinet is a set of dishes made form fine porcelain and silver. The items clean themselves every few hours when not in use. On the small table is a porridge pot and a steel pitcher of water. These items are always full, the porridge hot and the water cold. If either item is removed from the portable home, both items empty immediately and lose their power until returned into the home. Food and water produced within the portable home cannot be removed from the portable home.

  3. Bedchambers: Within this room is three wooden-framed beds, two double beds and one single bed. Each bed is accompanied by a single compartment storage chest. These chests have no locks or rings for padlocks. Each bed is cleaned automatically every few hours when not in use. On the wall near the entrance to the room is a small stone panel with a wooden button. When pressed the lights in the room dim to near darkness.
