The Dragon Slayer

The Empress of the Sol Star Empire is decorated war hero Grand Admiral [Retired] Rebekah Louse DanClaude. She carries multiple epithets including The Champion of Clarion, The Hero of the Abados Sector, The Dominion of Damocles, and The Dragon Slayer.

In the year 2994 the, at the time, Captain DanClaude earned the epithet Dragon Slayer in the one-and-only decisive victory the SSE won during the war of the Abados Sector. This final battle of the war was in orbit of a refueling planet in a strategically important spacelane. She did battle with a fleet of Star Dragon Enclave strike cruisers and a single capitol ship; the Voidwing. She had lost most of her escort fleet, and had positioned her capital ship as a shield to absorb the enemy fire while the rest of her men fired up their reshift drives for route. As she prayed that the shields of the living space fortress Damocles would hold, she struck upon an idea. Personally marching into the drone piloting bay, she locked herself into a control pod and took control of a maintenance drone. She, via datalink, use the drone to pilot a lander craft through the enemy forces and clasp onto the hull of the Voidwing. Using the drone's cutting tools she bored a hole through the orbital craft and hull of the Voidwing. Once this opening was ready she used the onboard teleport beacon to scan the vessel while her crew used the matter converters to transform everything they could into anti-matter detonators and teleport them to strategic positions on the Voidwing. The Voidwing was destroyed, and the star dragon overseer died. The first death of a star dragon since evolution of the Decaro Masters. This victory won her the title Dragon Slayer, and the loss of a star dragon shocked the SDE to their very core and brought them to the negotiation table for a ceasefire.

32 years later, after a distinguished career with multiple victories against political dissidents and alien forces, she interrupted the coronation of the gormless idiot and would-be heir of the ailing emperor with a stunner grenade. Flanked by her sons Vice Admiral Landon DanClaude and General Aries DanClaude High Marshal of the Imperial Knights she marched upon the imperial senate. She shoved aside the stunned heir apparent and judge magister of the senate and addressed the senate.

"I, Grand Admiral Rebekah Louse DanClaude, The Dragon Slayer, have documented proof of lineage. My mother, Erina Rasmussen, was a maid in the imperial palace and concubine to the Emperor. I am his bastard, and by the law of One Drop, I am fit to claim right to rule. I will offer my blood for genetic testing and pit my 114 years of exemplary military service against this child's schooling in any test of skill."

She then took a knife crafted from the hull of the Voidwing and cut open her hand and bled upon the senate floor.

Three imperial standard months later, on the first day of 3027, which can really be anywhere between the mid 2700s and early 3300s due to an accounting error related to tax fraud, she ascended to the throne of mars with a 10,782 to 1 vote in the imperial senate. Relations between the Star Dragon Enclave and the Sol Star Empire have been tense since that day.
